The following acne drugs have been used for plenty of years and are probably safe to apply during pregnancy and nursing:

Benzoyl peroxide

This drug has been around for generations. it is extremely effective for treating acne and can be purchased over the counter. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding your kid, you should not use benzoyl peroxide topical without first talking to your doctor. You can then decide if the risks are low and the benefits are high for you to use it. If during pregnancy or breastfeeding, you are advised to use a benzoyl peroxide combination product, it is probably wisest to use five that contains erythromycin such as Benzamycin Gel, than five that contains clindamycin.

Sulfacetamide/sulfur combinations

These medications should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. These medications may pass into breast milk, so breastfeeding while using these medications is not recommended.

As with benzoyl peroxide products, these have been used safely for plenty of years. Combinations of sulfacetamide and sulfur are contained in such products as Rosula, Rosac, Rosanil, Nicosyn, and Novacet.

I know that what i am going to tell you can be unbelievable, but thats the truth and 100! truth. Any type of acne can be cured.

Acne Drugs Not Safe Pregnancy

The following acne drugs should not be used use during pregnancy:


Topical retinoids

Aczone Gel

Tetracycline

Hormones

Oral isotretinoin (Accutane)


Topical retinoids
These consist of tretinoin, Retin-A, Differin, Tazorac, & Avita. Even though there is minimal absorption of topical retinoids that can potentially reach a fetus, & there is no evidence that these agents can harm an unborn kid, you should stop applying them two times you think that you are pregnant. Clindamycin: Prescription product s that contain this antibiotic include Cleocin-T, as well as several generics. The effects of clindamycin during pregnancy haven't been adequately studied. Clindamycin combined with benzoyl peroxide is also found in the combination products Benzaclin Gel & DuacGel. Because clindamycin may appear in breast milk & could affect a nursing kid, it is probably not advisable to use products containing it if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.


Aczone Gel
This agent contains dapsone. there is minimal absorption of this drug in the bloodstream when it is applied topically; however, it is known that dapsone is excreted inhuman milk when taken orally.
Clindamycin & benzoyl peroxide are also found in the combination products Benzaclin Gel & Duac Gel.


I recommend avoiding all oral medicines to treat acne when you are pregnant. However, an oral penicillin derivative, such as amoxicillin (if you are not allergic to it), may be taken safely if your acne is bad. If you are allergic to penicillin or it isn't working, your dermatologist may prescribe another oral antibiotic that can be used in pregnancy.

Tetracycline

Oral isotretinoin (eye-so-tret-ih- no-in) available as Accutane, Roaccutane, Amnesteem, Claravis, & Sotret, is a powerful drug that is used to treat severe nodular acne in carefully selected patients. This drug can cause severe fetal abnormalities. There's lots of restrictions currently in place regarding oral isotretinoin & with understandable cause. Oral isotretinoin can cause serious birth defects to infants born from women exposed to them. They should seldom - not under any circumstances - be taken during pregnancy! Even if a woman becomes pregnant within one month after stopping the drug, problems can still occur. There also is an increased risk of miscarriage, premature births & kid death associated with taking oral isotretinoin during pregnancy.

I know that what i am going to tell you can be unbelievable, but thats the truth & 100! truth. Any type of acne can be cured.

How to clear your Acne Fast.

Having had acne for many years, until I found a way to clear it. I tried lots of different treatments. Some of the treatments I used were the normal thing; antibiotics, accutane and over-the-counters. Some were more unusual; acupuncture, 3 day apple fasting and a few other bizarre things I won't go into...

But after many years of STILL having acne, after trying all these things, when I finally found something that worked I was amazed. What worked for me was making some simple changes to my diet...

The reason diet is so important to clear skin is because certain foods actually cause your acne. They do this by imbalancing your hormones - resulting in breakouts... Once you know which foods to avoid you will see a major improvement in your skin. For example, when I cut out of my diet the food vegetable oil, my acne cleared up quite dramatically.

Vegetable oil causes major hormonal imbalance and the worst kind of acne -cystic. This is best avoided and is easy to do so. Most vegetable oil in your diet is likely to be in your cooking oils (like sunflower oil). Other sources of vegetable oil are pesto and junk food.

Once you stop eating significant amounts of vegetable oil you will have gotten rid of the worst of your acne and will start to balance your hormones so that not only does your acne clear up, but your oil levels with balance out too.

There are many acne treatments on the market these days that say "if you put this on your face, or swallow this then you will have clear skin in 3 days...". But in reality, do these really work?

I suffered from acne for many, many years and tried more than my "fair" share of acne treatments in the market. And I can tell you this: none of them helped with my acne.

Acne DOs and DON'Ts

Every little thing counts when it comes to fighting acne and keeping it under control. After all, zits are not that big themselves, they just bug us in a big way. We don't always realize that seemingly insignificant things can help us look better (or worse, depending on what they are), while intentionally following myths, we do more harm than good to the skin.

Here are a few things to consider if you don't want to see those pimples pop up.

DO:

= Clean your face twice a day. Use a cleanser that is designed for your skin type and avoid harsh and irritating products. When cleaning your skin and rinsing it with water (make sure to use plenty!), move from the neck to the hairline - that way you are not likely to spread hair build up over your face, as it can aggravate acne.

= If you work out and sweat, clean your face after you exercise.

= Use a moisturizer for your skin type. Even if your skin is oily, don't ignore this important part of your daily routine. Your skin needs protection. Overdrying your skin will not do any good: on the contrary, the oil glands will start working even harder.

= Choose cosmetics made for your skin type.

= Use products with fruit acids. They help to shed old skin cells and prevent pore clogging. You are not likely to see the results overnight, but be patient and stick to the treatment - you will be pleasantly surprised.

= Protect your skin from wind and harsh environment as they make skin prone to infections.

= Shampoo your hair regularly. Oil glands on your scalp produce the same sebum as those on your face. Add hair care products residues and environmental elements that stick to your hair - and you have a super-effective acne causing solution.

= Drink lots of water to clean your body of toxins and keep your skin hydrated from the inside.

= Take vitamins and eat a healthy diet. People who suffer from acne often don't get enough vitamin A in their diets (you may want to consult your doctor about that since large doses of vitamin A can be toxic). Zinc supplements are known to fight acne outbreaks. Healthy eating is good for all parts of your body. While diet changes alone won't spare you of acne, they will help your skin look better.

= See a doctor if your acne is severe.

DON'T:

= Don't use drying cleansers and harsh scrubs. They destroy the protective barrier and alter skin pH, making skin vulnerable and prone to infections. Astringents should be used on oily areas only.

= Don't squeeze zits. This is the worst thing to do, and for many the hardest to avoid. Still, if you don't want to aggravate the condition, don't pick on your pimples. You can, however, drain them with a sterilized needle once they are mature.

= Don't scratch or rub your skin. Sometimes rubbing can cause zits on otherwise clear complexion. You may want to experiment if you are brave enough, otherwise try to keep your hands off your face and avoid wearing hats, helmets or bands that may cause unpleasant surprises.

= Don't tan. Even though tan will mask the blemishes, the effect is temporary. Excessive sun exposure can aggravate acne. Many over-the-counter and prescription acne products make your skin sensitive to sun. In addition to causing skin dehydration and premature aging, UV rays destroy cells responsible for skin's immunology

Almost everyone has suffered from acne at one time or another in his or her lives. It is primarily a disorder of the sebaceous gland (glands in the skin that secrete an oily substance) of the face, the neck and back. As with the white vinegar, apply the juice of a lemon (or desired citric juice) to the face. Allow it to dry for about 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water. You may feel a mild sting or burn when the lemon juice is applied. If so, diluting the juice is acceptable.

Increase water consumption. Water helps flush toxin out and help transport nutrients in the body.

Eat a properly balanced diet to ensure proper nutrition.

Take a high quality multiple vitamin and mineral supplement to make up for nutrients missing in today’s foods.

Echinacea or Oregon grape can be used to boost the immune system and fight acne-causing bacteria.

Dandelion, Burdock or red clover can help to keep the liver clear of toxic overload.

Why Don't Acne Cures Work?

Quite a bit of money can be spent searching for acne cures that work. There are so many products available, that it is hard to know which one’s to try. You try one product, only to be disappointed, and then spend a lot of money on another system that claims it will cure your acne, only to be disappointed again. It seems to be a never ending cycle of looking for a cure, thinking you’ve found an acne cure, then being disappointed all over again.

The biggest problem is that people don’t give the acne cures enough time to actually work, switching from one product to the next on a weekly basis. It can take up to three months for an acne treatment to cure your acne, and you may even notice that your acne appears to be getting worse before it starts to get better. Failure to follow the product directions is another common problem. Using too much of the acne medication can be just as much of a problem as not using it enough, causing your skin to become irritated.
